I enjoy the switch to this military hospital though I wonder how these doctors have all this information about Jack and yet there are no police/media reports of all the crazy occurrences surrounding him and his friends. I am sure there is some military-industrial complex-based explanation for this, but an advanced(?) world without and an technologically savvy and prepared media needs to be explained. If jack is really a "7", how is it that only these two doctors know? OR are there others? Also, there are lots of dead kids left in Jack's wake yet no family, friends wondering about there whereabouts? Need to create some sort of justifiable explanation as to why this is not on the radar or is it too early to get there? If so, then how was Jack found so quickly and is there some sort of cover up? In other words, how has such a climactic event stayed on the DL?
I do like the switch back to something familiar again--a hospital, doctors, nurses--and he way you drop less than subtle hints that this is not your run of the mill medical center. I would have liked some description of the hallways as the doctors walked and talked to create an opportunity to show this hospital as a living, breathing entity that holds these deep dark secrets within its basement that the "regular folk" up top are unaware of. The whole white on white on white thing is cool and I think you could have really run with this since, my guess, is that the irony of this white world is probably darker than it appears.
Finally, Andi gone??? I was just getting to know her. Jack on his own without a foil to keep him in check? OR is she still breathing somewhere? if she is gone, can Jack carry us through the rest of the book? Can he carry himself without Andi? interesting questions. Keep up the good work
